“Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me.” Psalms 23:4 (NIV)
Our Father in heaven, today I set my heart and mind on You. Give me Your vision for my future. Help me to see myself the way You see me so that I can imagine and live in the blessing You have in store for me. Lord, today I choose to separate myself from my circumstances and from my environment so I can set my heart and mind on You. Show me Your ways. Reveal Your love to me. Give me Your vision of victory for my future. O Lord, I do not know what Your will is for me this day, but I do know that whatever happens to me, it will be the best possible thing. Your love rules my life, and I trust you completely.
Help me to clearly know the difference today between evil and good. Help me to stand firm for good and fight evil. May my life be a shining example of Your goodness to all that I associate with today. Lord, as I remember your extraordinary grace to me, I am filled with gratitude. Thank you for encouraging me in my hour of despair. Thank you for helping me to know that you are present even when I doubt you. May your grace continue to form me so that I might be the person you have created and re-created me to be and so that I might an example for others with confidence in you.
Indeed, O Lord, you are our Shepherd, the Good Shepherd who knows and cares for his sheep. Thank you for paying attention to your people. Thank you for wanting the best for us. Thank you for reaching out to us in your mercy. Thank you for saving us, nurturing us, guiding us, and protecting us. Thank you for being not just the Good Shepherd for all, but my Good Shepherd as well. Thank you for all those times you have reached out in mercy to help me. How good you are to me! Yet, as you know, I still need your help. I pray in the name of the Good Shepherd. Amen.
Fear is removed through Godly love.
“There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love. We love Him because He first loved us.” 1 John 4:18, NKJV
A certain joyful, though humble, confidence becomes us when we pray in the Mediator’s name. It is due to Him; when we pray in His name it should be without wavering. Remember His merits, and how prevalent they must be. “Let us therefore come boldly to the throne of grace.”
