Those who listen to instruction will prosper; those who trust the Lord will be joyful. – Proverbs 16:20 (NLT)
Dearest Father in heaven, thank You for Your light that drives out every trace of darkness! I choose to expect Your goodness. I choose to focus on Your faithfulness. I trust that You are working in the background, and I expect that You will turn things around for my good.
Father, I do set my heart and mind on You today. I expect Your goodness because I know You are faithful. Every good and perfect thing comes from You. Thank You for Your hand of blessing on every area of my life. If I am to be an example of what it means to follow Christ, then help me to be the best example I can be. Help me, Lord, to be a faithful and wise “tiller.”. May I prepare the “ground” for planting, growth, and an abundant harvest. Guide me by Your Spirit. Help me, Lord, to till well today, for your glory.
Lord, keep me from cynicism that I can sound so wise even as it excuses me from making a difference for good in the world. Help me not to rely on myself and my own efforts, as if I had either the calling or the ability to change the world in my own strength. Rather, may I cry out to you for help, again and again. May I rely upon you and your strength. As you guide me, may I be faithful in all things. Lord, make me an instrument of your peace, your righteousness, your justice. Help me to be a person of truth and compassion, for your glory. Help me to see everyone I encounter as a reflection of you. By your grace, may I treat them accordingly, offering hospitality, showing kindness, listening well, bestowing honor. Let the truth of your Word fill my life today and every day. I ask this in the matchless name of Jesus Christ, Amen
God promises to guide you on His pathway.
“And thine ears shall hear a word behind thee, saying, This is the way, walk ye in it, when ye turn to the right hand, and when ye turn to the left.” Isaiah 30:21, KJV
Let us thank God heartily as often as we pray that we have His Spirit in us to teach us to pray. Thanksgiving will draw our hearts out to God and keep us engaged with Him; it will take our attention from ourselves and give the Spirit room in our hearts.
